Group Lockdown Video Project

Many of my friends and family were really feeling the pressure of Covid restrictions and that inspired me to write an invitation to join a group video project, using clips they filmed at home on their phones. I wanted to encourage them to share the essence of how they felt about being stuck inside, not necessarily just what it looked like, and to feel connected to each other no matter where they were. 

The guidelines were to film four similar clips on four separate days, with the repetition giving a sense of sameness and time passing, and the similar pattern making them connected to the other participants. And then to record a short audio piece describing how they felt.

The result you see here is created by a variety of voices and perspectives from the UK, France and Canada, each telling their stories while reaching out invisible hands to join with those they cannot see to share their feelings about how the global pandemic is affecting them.
